The Chiringuitos will again be an important part of the San Juan Celebration in Fuengirola this year. In addition there is a small fair in the El Boquetillo area starting on Friday 21st of June
San Juan is celebrated on June 23rd every year and in Spain people usually gather around bonfires on the beaches. There are many Spanish traditions to be seen at the beaches on San Juan. Jumping over the bonfire is one of them. At midnight all the Spaniards walk backwards into the water.

There is also a great fireworks display in the marina at midnight, visible from all the beaches.
At the Chiringuitos (beach restaurants) there will be live music and they will offer grilled sardines + drinks for five euros in the evening of 23 June and all day 24th of June. Visitors arriving a Chiringuito dressed in white will get a free welcome drink.
Fuengirola is also hosting a hosting a small fair in the El Boquetillo area, between Estadio Elola and Mercado de la Avda de Mijas, with live music and dance performances. The Verbena San Juan starts on Friday 21. June at 10 p.m. and finishes on Sunday 24. June.
