The Spanish train company Renfe has announced a strike on Friday, that will affect local trains and long distance trains all over the country.
The strike announced by the CGT union, will take place the day of Friday 28. July from 00.00 to 23.00, but The Ministry of Public Works has decreed a Minimum Services to guarantee the mobility of travelers and merchandise.
Local trains, Cercanias
For the local and short distance trains, such as the coastal train between Málaga and Fuengirola, there will be a minimum service of 75% at peak hours and a minimum service of 50% during the rest of the day. If you are travelling by Cercanias on Friday you might want to consider an alternative transport, if you are in a hurry.
Long distance trains and AVE
For medium distance trains there will be a minimum service of 65%, while for Long Distance trains and High Speed trains, there will be a minimum service of 77%. A total of 274 medium and long trains have been cancelled on Friday.
If your train has been cancelled
If your train has been cancelled, Renfe will offer you a travel by another train at an approximate time, if possible. You can also change the date of your travel or cancel your ticket. The customer service and ticket offices will be operating as usual.
