Tomorrow February 28th is the “Día de Andalucía” which is the autonomous region of Andalusia’s day and it is an official holiday throughout Andalusia.
Make sure to do all necessary purchases today because most shops are closed tomorrow. In fact the celebration of Dia de Andalucía is more solemn than the national day, “Día de la Hispanidad” on October 12th.
Families usually celebrate the day by going on excursions trips, eating out at a restaurant, etc. Municipalities also organize various celebrations with song, dance and exhibitions.
What is being celebrated is the referendum that was made February 28, 1980 where voters voted for the law that made Andalucia an autonomous region in Spain.
This year it looks as usual at this time of year with the sun and heat. The weather report for the whole weekend is beautiful, so this is a double reason to be satisfied.
