Update: Three of the four wanted terrorists have been killed by Catalan police. The four men were all suspected for being behind the terrorist attack in La Rambla in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon.
The four men aged 17 to 24 years, were all of Moroccan origin. The Spanish newspaper El Pais reported on Friday evening that all the four had been killed. Later, police has reported that 22 year old Younes Abouyaaqoub is still on the run.
Mohamed Hychami, Said Aallaa and Moussa Oukabir were killed in the assault that happened Friday night in Cambrils, 100 km south of Barcelona. 5 men with fake bomb belts in Cambrils were shot and killed by the police after attempting to carry out a similar attack as the one in Barcelona. The Cambrils attack took place only nine hours after the first attack in Barcelona.
One of the terrorists that have been killed, Moussa Oukabir, was the little brother of Driss Oukabir, who was wanted yesterday because the rental car used in the attack was hired in his name. Driss Oukabir reported himself to the police and told that his ID papers had been stolen and he also said that it was a possibility that his younger brother could have stolen them.
17-year-old Moussa Oukabir had rented two vans in his brother’s name, one of which was used to drive at great speed through the La Rambla pedestrian street in Barcelona.
ISIS claims that they were behind the attack.
