The Spanish electric scooter manufacturer Scutum has made great progress. On April 14th, they delivered their first 100 scooters to Correos, the Spanish postal service.
Scutum is a Spanish company headed by Carlos Sotelo and the company has a very strong group of owners. The shares are owned by Repsol, La Caixa and Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI), “Center for Industrial Technological Development“.
The electric scooters are available in three different models, S01, S02 and S03. They are available with four different sizes of batteries, 1.5 kWh 3 kWh, 4.5 kWh and 6 kWh – this involves distances between 30 and 100 km without recharging.
The S01 model has a top speed of 100 km / h and accelerates from 0-50 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The range is 70 kilometers, and it has space for two full helmets under the seat. The S01 model is not yet priced, and will be available for sale next year.
The S02 model is now ready for delivery. The top speed is limited to 80 km/h and it has a large load capacity. It is also equipped with reverse.

The S03 model is three-wheeled, with dual rear wheels and a luggage capacity of 125 kg on the rear luggage carrier. It also has a larger floor and is equipped with reverse. But this model is not yet fully finalized, thus other data and prices are not yet available.
Common to all models is that they have LED lighting and its slogan is 0% fuel consupmtion 0% emissions and 0% noise. If you don’t want to buy an electric scooter they are also offering a lease. The price per month is from € 112 to € 152, depending on battery choice. The lease is for 48 months, including mostly as insurance, administrative costs, and delivery (only on the mainland). After the rental period you can buy the scooter for € 400.
