The weather forecast is promising nice high pressure weather, with hot and dry air in the weeks before Christmas.
The forecast, which extends until December 14, promises a stable high pressure and not a sigle drop of rain, except up in Galicia – “Spain’s wet corner”. Temperatures are projected to remain between 20-23 degrees C during the day along the Costa del Sol, and one or two degrees lower on the Costa Blanca.
But it is, after all, fall and even though the days are warm it will be cooler at night. The minimum temperature at night may come down to 10-12 C on the Costa del Sol and 6-7 on the Costa Blanca. Inland is expected even a few degrees cooler at night.
Some facts about weather forecasts
Since computing power generally is getting cheaper and weather models are being fine-tuned, the weather forecasts are steadily improving. But because the weather is chaotic, it will mathematically never be possible to predict the weather more than a few weeks ahead. Today’s forecasts are normally set at 80-85% accuracy for one day forecasts, but after that the accuracy falls for each day and after 14 days, one is down to qualified a guess.
