Following a period of uncertainty, it is now clear that the popular music festival Dance Electromar will be arranged for the ninth time in Torrevieja.
The organizers of the traditional summer festival were considering not to continue with the festivals. The reason for this was lack of interest and poor cooperation from the local authorities. But this year’s ninth edition of the festival will certainly not be the last one, since the organizers and the municipality now have signed a four-year contract.
Andreu Piqueras, a spokesman for the organizers, said: “We are delighted with the agreement, which enables us to work intensively to strengthen the festival in the short and long term. We have very ambitious plans and we hope to soon be able to reveal more surprises.” No details of the agreement have been announced, but it has emerged that the organizers are paying a fee for using municipal land, based on a percentage of the ticket revenue.
The festival had 10,000 visitors last year, but this year considerably more are expected. The number of artists have been increased and there are more genres than ever before. The festival will be held on July 16th 2016 in Parque Antonio Soria.
