The Spanish Miss World pageant was held this weekend in Estepona on the Costa del Sol and the winner was Mireia Lalaguna Royo, who was Barcelona’s candidate.
In second place came Ángela González from Asturias and in third was Natalia Ferrer from the Balearic Islands. The winner Mireira Lalaguna Royo will represent Spain in the world finals to be held in the Chinese city of Sanya on December 19th this year.
The Spanish beauty measures 177 centimeters and has the decent dimensions of 88-60-90 and she is 22 years young. What distinguished the Spanish competition this year was Cadiz’ Representative Ángela Ponce. She was in fact the first transgender who participated but failed to qualify for the finals.
This is not the first title for Mireia Lalaguna Royo. She also won the Miss Atlántico Internacional in 2014. The twenty-eighth edition of the prestigious competition was held in Punta del Este, Uruguay February 9, 2014.
Miss World is a beauty pageant for unmarried women between 16 and 26 years. The competition annualy has two billion television viewers in over 200 countries and is thus one of the world’s most-watched TV programs. There are competing contests, but Miss World is the oldest and largest in terms of number of participating nations.
The current reigning Miss World is named Rolene Strauss and comes from South Africa. Under her reign Miss World always lives in London when she is not traveling around the world to work as a representative for Miss World Organization. Britain has won Miss World all 3 times.
Although Miss World is greatest on the number of participating nations, Miss Universe has most viewers and is also the competition that produces the highest rates and money to the winner. The Spanish selection for this year’s edition of Miss Universe was held in Marbella this summer.
