One of the world’s largest aquariums is soon opening its doors in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
The aquarium has been named Poema del Mar, Poetry of the Sea, and will have 38 tanks with 350 species of fish, sharks, mammals, turtles and amphibians. One of the tanks will have the world’s second largest panorama window with a size of 36×7 metres.
The new aquarium has been under construction for two years and is managed by the Kiessling family who also manages many other tourist attractions in the Canary Islands. The aquarium will open on the 17th of December 2017.
