The large tourist and travel fair Fitur opened today in Madrid, and it is the 35th time this giant exhibition is being arranged.
The Fair will be opened by the Spanish royal couple and over 200,000 visitors are expected to visit the fair, of which 120,000 professionals. The fair is expected to give a boost to Madrid with around 200 million euros. The interest in the fair is bigger than ever, the number of exhibitors has increased by 12% and the exhibition area has been increased by 4%. All Spanish regions are involved and the Canary Islands are wagering extra hard and has a separate exhibition for each island.
The fair opens on January 28th, but the 28th, 29th and 30th of January it is only open to professionals. Saturday 31st and Sunday February 1st the fair is however also open to the public. Opening hours are: 28, 29 and 30 January, from 10 am to 7 pm. January 31 from 10 am to 8 pm and February 1st from 10am to 6pm. A one day ticket costs 15 €, and a five-day ticket €25. Persons under 16 years are not allowed duringe the first three days.
