The annual festival Moros y Cristianos in Jávea begins Saturday, July 11 and ends on Sunday July 19
The festival is considered the area’s main event during the year and is a celebration of the Christian reconquest of Spain from the Muslims. It is also considered a festival that celebrates centuries of coexistence between the two cultures.
There are many cities along the Mediterranean and especially in the Comunidad Valenciana which celebrates the reconquest of the Iberian peninsula (722-1492).
