On Saturday May 30th Aqualandia in Benidorm are opening the doors for the season. It is their 30th anniversary for Europe’s largest water park.
The park was opened for the first time on June 28th 1985 and immediately became very popular. At the time it was Spain’s only water park. Since then there have been many updates and now there are almost 20 different attractions. In 2002 the Big Bang was opened with 4 different slides, of which the highest is 28 meters. But already in 2013 there was a higher water slide. With its 33 meters height Verti-Go is world’s tallest water slide, where you reach speeds of 100 km/h.
Aqualandia covers an area of 150,000 square meters and has a free parking space of 50,000 square meters. This makes it Europe’s largest water park and one of the largest in the world. Admission for a day costs € 24, but there are also various family tickets and group tickets.
More information is available at Aqualandia’s web site (Spanish and English).
