One of UK’s most wanted criminals, Anthony Dennis, has been arrested fleeing Spain after a new campaign run by Crimestoppers, National Crime Agency and Spanish authorities.
The campaign has been started to smoke out British criminals believed to hide in Spain. The new campaign involves that big screens with images of the wanted are driven around popular tourist destinations in Spain, in addition to ads on Facebook where photographs of the criminals appears.
It is believed that Anthony Dennis along with 17 other criminals have stayed in Spain, but that he has traveled back to England after the big screens showed pictures of him and the other criminals. The screens have been driven around in Benidorm, Malaga and Marbella in areas where many foreigners are located.
The 47 year old drug offender was arrested in London on Tuesday.
Steve Reynolds, deputy director of the National Crime Agency said “The aim of taking the digital screen to hot-spot areas was to flush the fugitives out. This seems to have been the case with Anthony Dennis”.
