Construction of the 184 km long continuous promenade along the Costa del Sol is on schedule.
The entire project affects 14 coastal municipalities, from Nerja in East to Sabinillas in the west and the cost is estimated at 40 million euros. The schedule for the work seems somewhat vague, but in 2020 everything is expected to be done. It is the provincial government in Málaga that is behind the project, which is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Coastal Affairs and all involved municipalities.
At the moment construction is in progress on a total of 15 km of the path. Mijas and Marbella have come very far on their parts. 130 people will be working on the construction over five years, then it is estimated that the project will generate approximately 400 full-time jobs.
The promenade will reach all the way from the balcony of Nerja in the east to the port of La Duquesa, Manilva in the west. The images included in this article are taken from Mijas municipality and photographed on 18 October by Erixon Consulting.
