Europe’s largest water park, Aqualandia in Benidorm, has opened for the season. There were more than 1,000 visitors on the opening day, Saturday the 28th of May.
The park was opened for the first time on June 28th 1985 and immediately became very popular. It was Spain’s only water park when it was opened. Many new slides have been added since then and now there are almost 20 different attractions in the park.
In 2002 the “Big Bang” came with 4 different water slides, the tallest is 28 meters. But already in 2013 a higher water slide was opened. Verti-Go with its 33 meters height is the world’s highest water slide, where you reach speeds of 100 km/h.
Aqualandia covers an area of 150,000 square meters and has a free parking space of 50,000 square meters. This makes it Europe’s largest water park and one of the largest in the world. Admission is € 24 for one day (afternoon from € 19), but there are also various family tickets, group tickets and combination deals.
The majority of the discounted tickets and deals can only be purchased online. Aqualandia’s website is also very educational – and therefore we recommend to check it before you visit the park: www.aqualandia.net (Spanish, English and French).
The park is open daily in the summer and closes for the season in September.
