Restaurants in Fuengirola
Fuengirola has a vibrant restaurant scene with restaurants in all price ranges and qualities. The large amount of expats from all over the world living in Fuengirola has led to a large variety of cuisines being represented. Along the seafront there are many restaurants that are essentially adapted to mass tourism such as English Restaurants
, Italian Restaurants
, Indian Restaurants
, Chinese Restaurants
etc, but a little farther up from the seafront you will find restaurants with a larger variety.
Both Fuengirola centre and the Los Boliches area has a restaurant street where the restaurants are lined up. The marina is also a really nice area with lots of restaurants.
The old centre of Fuengirola is one of the best areas for tapas and food lovers. Plaza Chinorros
behind the post office has over the past years become the place to go if you want to try a variety of traditional and modern Spanish tapas. The plaza is surrounded by several excellent tapas bars and in the evenings the plaza is filled up with residents and tourists enjoying Spanish food and wine.

El Garbanzo Chickpeas! Amazing and mind blowing flavours
El Garbanzo is a family run restaurant with a concept that exists in other towns around the world, but as far as we know there is no other restaurant like this here in Fuengirola.
Basically they are serving variations of hummus, topped with various ingredients such as spicy pulled pork, beef, chicken or various vegetables. They also have a few dishes that are without hummus.
The food is just as tasty as it is colourful and will probably make you sigh with joy while eating.
We have tried a selection of their dishes such as pickled beet-roots with red cabbage, fried eggplants with olives, pickled vegetables, and dices of cucumber and tomatoes marinated in a delicious sweet and sour sauce, Hummus, Falafel with hummus and Green Tahini hummus with coriander. It's all well balanced, and refreshing and easy to eat on a warm summer day. If you like coriander do not miss the fabulous green Tahini Hummus. Their Falafel is tender, soft and tasty, unlike all other falafel we have ever tried in Fuengirola (usually falafel tend to be a bit hard and tasteless) The pulled pork is spicy and rich.
For dessert try their amazing rose scented milk pudding with a magic flavour served in a cute little jar. We just wanted to sit there and enjoy the dessert for the rest of the evening, so we tried our best to eat it slowly one teaspoon at a time, letting the brain process the flavour.
Their menu is still under development and we will keep coming back to try their next releases. Avenida Ramon y Cajal 17, 29640 Fuengirola

Grand Café Santé An excellent international restaurant, a brewery, and a cafe with breakfasts, lunch and tapas.
Grand Café Santé is an excellent restaurant in the main street of Los Boliches just down from the Los Boliches train station. We have only positive things to say about this restaurant and their food. The interior is neatly decorated with fresh flowers on the tables and the employees do a great job in making you feel comfortable and welcome.
They have an international menu with a large selection of fish dishes and a large selection of meat such as steaks, chateaubriand, lamb, BBQ spare ribs and pork tenderloin. In addition they have a few chicken dishes, duck, an excellent Irish beef burger, an excellent Iranian beef and lamb kebab, and a few pasta dishes. The large variation on their menu, makes this a place where most groups of visitors could find something that would please their taste buds. We should also mention that they open at 09:00 in the mornings, serving breakfasts, tapas, churros and lunch.
They brew their own beer in four large tanks, Estrella Galicia, which is well balanced and rich in flavour.
Here are some of the dishes we can recommend:
The Foie with the paté is well balanced and very rich in flavour. It has a high umami-factor that really kicks up your taste buds and just makes you ready for more food. The Gambas al Pil Pil is tender and not rubbery with the perfect amount of chilli and garlic.
Another brilliant dish the Fillet of sole with spinach & prawn in Cava sauce. It's a super rich dish where salt, sweet, sour, bitter and umami all play their role in your dining experience. Because of the clever way this particular dish has been composed, the flavours are not mixed together, so you get to experience all the tastes again and again.
Duck a l'Orange with Rioja red wine sauce is another winner. Often when you order duck in orange sauce the sauce tends to be too sweet, but not this one. The orange is not overwhelming the duck, instead it has a sweet, but rich flavour where the wine plays a larger role.
The grilled Entrecote with pepper sauce and fried potatoes is tender and scrumptious, the potatoes are crispy on the outside and cooked to perfection, and the vegetables are not overcooked.
They also have some specialities of the house that have to be ordered in advance, such as Chauteubriand and their French rack of Lamb. This is definitely a place where you will come back for more. Avenida de los Boliches 95, 29640 Fuengirola

Parrilla Cosquin An Argentinian restaurant located in Los Boliches and a paradise for meat lovers, with extremely tasty and tender Argentinian Angus meat.
Parilla Cosquin is an excellent family run Argentinian restaurant with a large selection of grilled Spanish and Argentinian meat and other Argentinian specialities. All the meat is grilled on their charcoal grill. Their Argentinian Angus meat is certified and fresh, ensuring that the meat never has been frozen. And we can assure you that this is some of the best steaks available in Fuengirola.
For a selection of meats, try a mixed parrillada with chicken, pork, and beef. But it's not all about steaks. They have three different affordable three course menus and a selection of pizzas and pastas. Try pizza Cosquin or Pizza Mexicana. All the sauces are made from scratch in their own kitchen.
For starters we recommend Argentinian Empañadas, Provolone Cheese or their Chorizo, which is very tasty, but yet not greasy.
If you are a real carnivore, try their large Argentinian parrillada which is a barbecue menu for two. But be warned: It has a lot of meat and can easily feed 4 people. You get 2 small Sirloin steaks, 2 short loin steaks, 2 rib eye steaks, 2 Chorizos, 2 black sausages, some potatoes and some vegetables accompanied with their home made Chimichurry sauce that lifts the experience.
Among the desserts we can recommend are the Queso Dulce de Batata, Tarta Cosquin and their mousse. They also have crepes on their dessert menu and traditional Argentinian crepes called Panqueqe.
Try it and you will leave the restaurant half-dazed and happy, planning your next visit. Calle Poeta Salvador Rueda 80, 29640 Fuengirola

Restaurant Mo:Mo Nepalese Restaurant in Los Boliches. Instead of using a lot of fat, the Nepalese cuisine uses herbs, spices and pickled ingredients to achieve a delicious flavour.
Restaurant Mo:Mo is a Nepalese restaurant that is run a by a genuinely warm and welcoming Finnish-Nepali couple that always greets you with a Namaste, Welcome or Tervetuloa. Traditional Nepali food is very healthy and their dishes contain less fat than many other cuisine. Instead they add taste by using herbs, spices and pickled ingredients. The cuisine is influenced by their neighbouring countries, such as India and Tibet.
You will not find any dishes with beef here, as the cow is considered a sacred animal. Instead they use chicken, lamb, fish and shrimps. You should try their MoMo, which is a dumpling with Nepalese spices and actually this is one of the most popular foods in Nepal.
They also have a large selection of really tasty vegetarian dishes, so this is the perfect restaurant for a group of vegetarians and meat eaters who would like to go out together. They also have a large variety of dishes from southern Nepal that are similar to classical Indian dishes, such as Tandori, Tikka Masala, Korma, Madras, Vindaloo, Biryani etc. You can specify how spicy you want your dish.

Otelli's Kitchen Something for your taste buds and for your peace of mind.
Mike and Fiona have been running Otelli's Kitchen in Benalmadena for 12 years, but have now relocated their restaurant to Fuengirola. Lucky for us, since Mike is actually an excellent chef.
Mike makes everything from scratch with fresh ingredients, including all the sauces, dressings and emulsions, ensuring that all their meals are accompanied with flavours that lifts the food experience.
Their menu is very international with English, Dutch, French and Spanish specialities. Their steaks and burgers are made from Irish beef. If you like spicy food, they have Spicy Friday Nights with a special menu (bookings only).
They are located in a peaceful square in the beautiful urbanisation of Pueblo Lopez and is probably the only place in Fuengirola where the looky looky men won't come to bother you. Walking from the centre of Fuengirola up to Pueblo Lopez only takes a few minutes and is worth the journey because it immediately takes you from the "bustling tourist resort" of Fuengirola to an urbanisation that looks like a white Andalusian Village. Every little side street and house is beautifully decorated, giving it a Spanish atmosphere that immediately makes you want to buy a house there.
Some of their typical English dishes are Steaks, pies and spare ribs. Among their typical Dutch dishes are Fricandel, Bitterballen, and Dutch Apple Pie. Their Spanish dishes include classical tapas, Gazpacho, Paella, Zarzuela and dishes made for sharing. Among other dishes we can recommend are their tasty lasagnes made with mature Cheddar or Blue cheese (nothing like the cheap lasagne you can find everywhere), their salads all made with delicious home made dressings and emulsions, carpaccio, lamb chops, Schnitzel, and of course Sunday Roast served with potatoes, vegetables and trimmings.
Their selection of desserts is also larger than you would find in most restaurants here, and will make you sigh with joy. It includes Dame Blanche, Vanilla ice cream with Baileys sauce, Tiramisu, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Coulant, cheese, and pies. Even for the desserts we want to come back and try all of them.
If you like to enjoy breakfast or lunch in a quiet Andalusian square, they have a large breakfast and lunch menu with toasts, wraps, paninis, focaccias and juicy burgers made with Irish beef. All accompanied with fresh salads and Mike's tasty dressings.
Twice a month they have live music, a great opportunity to enjoy music and food in their lovely patio. With their location, it is a perfect place for weddings and other functions.
While we were eating there, there were several regular visitors and even a group coming from Benalmadena just to eat at their place. Try it and you will probably become a regular visitor too. Plaza Juan, Pueblo Lopez, 29640 Fuengirola

Restaurant A Esgaya Discovering Asturian food - In abundance
Restaurant A Esgaya is located in a beautiful town house that formerly was a chill out bar, just past the Policia Local. The owners have managed to turn the place into an inviting and beautiful place with airy decoration that breathes and lifts your mind.
Asturias with it's fertile farmlands and teeming sea, produces some of the best commodities in Spain. Ask any Spaniard and they'll confirm that Asturian food will shroud you an in a pleasant food coma.
There is a lot to choose from, but among some of the dishes we can recommend are:
-Grilled goat cheese salad with strawberry vinaigrette, a starter where bitter, sweet and sour flavours are combined to perfection
-Fabada Asturiana, a rich stew made with large, white beans cooked for at least 6 hours with chorizo, morcilla (blood sausage) and pancetta. Rich in Umami flavour
-Cachopo de Ternera, a breaded thin beef cutlet stuffed with cured ham, cheese and vegetables, which is then deep fried. This is a large portion of meat which also makes this dish suitable for sharing with friends.
-Pastel de Cabracho, which is a mousse made with vegetables and the sweet meat of a species of scorpion fish that inhabits the coastal areas of Asturias.
-Tender, scrumptious steaks. Choose between sirloin steak, fillet steak or breaded thin cut steak.
-Cod with three emulsions.
-Asturian blue cheese which are among the best in the world, with a pungent odour and strong flavour. Matured for at least six months in dank mountain caves.
-Cecina which is salted and cured beef cut into very thin slices. You have probably tasted Spanish Serrano ham, but Cecina has a completely different taste.
Asturian food is also famous for the Arroz, which are similar to Paellas. Try their Arroz with Carrillada de Cerdo (Tender pork cheek) and Pulpo Frito (fried octopus).
Ask for suggestions as they often have meals of the day that are not on the menu. The waiters will gladly recommend some dishes from the menu for you.
Their desserts menu changes every week, but if you like chocolate coulant, they are served with home delicious made ice cream.
Of course we must mention the Asturian cider which is cloudy, briny and does not remind anything about the sweet ciders that are very common in the northern part of Europe.
The restaurant has three areas: A dining area, a zone for "Picoteo", which means sharing your plates with friends, and a chill out zone in their garden/patio where you can relax with drinks.

Restaurant La Caracola
Caracola is a Chiringuito on the beach promenade which is very popular among the locals. As most Chiringuitos their main focus is seafood, but they also have some meat dishes in their menu.
Most of the dishes are really well prepared. If you are a group of four or more people you could try to share a Parrillada de Mariscos, which is a plate with mixed seafood. If you have never tried Conchas Finas, this is the place. Conchas Finas are mussels that are eaten raw with lemon and salt. They are alive when served and the taste is like a summer kiss from the sea. Another dish you should try is Coquinas, which are small mussels that are either steamed or cooked in a delicious broth.
