Activities in Calahonda
Apart from sunbathing, swimming and various water sports, Calahonda and Mijas Costa is known as a golf community. The Costa del Sol has long promoted itself as the Costa del Golf. There are 15 golf courses to choose from in Mijas Costa. The largest is La Cala Resort with three 18 hole courses. Another popular golf course is Mijas Golf strategically located near Fuengirola. The only horse race track on the Costa del Sol, Hipodromo Costa del Sol is located in Mijas, just above La Cala de Mijas. It hosts a range of activities such as horse racing late at night during the summer, sometimes concerts and sometimes horse shows.
The water park in Mijas, Parque Aquatico Mijas, is located at the border between Fuengirola and
Mijas Costa. Here you will find water slides for children and adults, wave pools and lots of fountains and small pools

Traveling and transportation in Calahonda
Mijas is about 25 minutes drive from Malaga airport and about 8 minutes from the local train in Fuengirola. From Malaga airport, you can travel to most major cities in Europe without having to change planes.
